Terms of Use
Last updated July 2026. These terms cover reading this site and using the Cutlist companion app described on it.
Acceptance of terms
By reading or using this website, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree with them, please don't use the site.
Editorial content
Railstile publishes general writing about furniture architecture and woodworking design method. Articles describe reasoning, method, and shop practice; they are not project plans, engineering certification, or professional instruction. Applying anything read here to a real project is done at your own judgment and risk, and results depend on your own material, tools, and skill.
No professional advice
Nothing on this site constitutes structural engineering advice, safety certification, or a guarantee that a described method will produce a particular result. Where safety is a concern (load-bearing furniture, stairs, or anything intended to support weight in ways that could cause injury if it failed), consult a qualified professional.
The Cutlist app
Cutlist is a planning tool provided for convenience. It helps organize dimensions and flag possible tolerance issues, but it does not replace your own verification of measurements against the actual material in front of you. We are not responsible for material lost or project outcomes resulting from reliance on the app's output without independent checking.
Intellectual property
Text, illustrations, and diagrams published on this site are the property of Railstile unless otherwise noted. You're welcome to link to our articles. Reproducing substantial portions of an article elsewhere without permission is not allowed; short quotations with a link back are fine.

- Don't use this site to distribute unlawful content or infringe the rights of others.
No warranty
This site and the Cutlist app are provided "as is," without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to accuracy, completeness, or fitness for a particular purpose.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Railstile is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including wasted material or project delays, arising from use of this site or the Cutlist app.
